Aspirant Guide Training is the first step towards becoming a full IFMGA mountain guide. The Aspirant Guide training consists of three components spread out over 10 months, with a total of 47 training days. This does not include the approach or the return from training venue. It is a group structured based training. The dates of the different components are to reconfirmed internally but as a whole, the usual dates are followed as far as possible. Each component of the Aspirant Guide Training occurs in three different seasons i.e. the first component in winter, second component in summer and last component in early autumn. The first and last component are held in alpine terrain (Altitude 4000m – 5800m) and second component is held in the hilly region below 4000m. Each year, the training and evaluation of components are held on the same seasons but exact dates may vary.
Each participant has to pass through each module successively to complete the Aspirant Guide Course. The successful completion of final evaluation in each component will open the door of next component. Participants who are not able to pass the final evaluation must appear in the entrance examination next time.
