Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA) is a not-for-profit organization established in 2005 to support the development of skilled mountaineering guides in Nepal and to uphold the interests and welfare of mountain guiding industry in the country. It works to promote Nepal's mountain tourism locally and globally contributing to national economy. Registered under Nepal Government's NGO act 2034, it is a member based organization with 100 full time members (IFMGA guides) and 34 conditional members (aspirant guides) as of 2025. It is the country member representative of Nepal at the International Federation of Mountain Guide Association (UIAGM/IFMGA). It is dedicated to promoting professional mountain guiding standards of the country and offers various courses and programs jointly with other institutions at national and international level. Its licensed IFMGA guides are leading expeditions in Nepal and internationally in all the 7 continents.
About Vision & MissionThe NNMGA offers a diploma course in International Mountain Guide training that is globally recognized and aligns with IFMGA standards. Graduates of the NNMGA mountain guide course also concurrently receive a vocational education Level 4 certification from Nepal Government, the highest skill ranking awarded by the NSTB, which operates under the CTEVT within Nepal's Ministry of Education.
